Meet Linda Hobbs, MSS, MBA, LCSW, RYT
I am a lover of nature, very close to being a tree hugger, but for now, it is a goal to be certain to have my feet on soil and grass, or touch a tree, leaves or flowers daily – even my meditation cushion and my yoga mat are made from natural material. I practice yoga and meditation everyday. I indulge with the elements. I keep an oil lamp lit, fresh air circulating, aromatherapy infusing ylang ylang, lavender, and sage, take showers as self-care, and love to dance to different genres of music piping from my Bose speaker. I lead a minimalist lifestyle of having only what I need and love so that I have more freedom and time for fun and connecting. I will seek out a Whole Foods wherever I travel (may I have the watermelon and coconut Waterloo please). I finished the Philadelphia Marathon in 2010 and numerous half-marathons, and have since fallen in love with outdoor cycling (Ruby Sports Specialized). I stay curious about new places to hike, preferably near water. I love swimming and being at shore, particularly at sunrise and sunset. I see myself sailing Lake Norman and the Outer Banks and other breath-taking places in our beautiful world with my sailing community and with my dream yogi well into old age.
I moved to Ballantyne Charlotte, NC from Chestnut Hill Philadelphia, PA during Summer 2020. This was light and fresh air in the midst of Black Lives Matter and the COVID-19 Pandemic. I returned to my roots and, yet again, expanded my sophomore’s horizons through her Mama’s moves. There is a new South, thanks to the likes of Stacey Abrams and so many others. In the midst of this all, couples still have concerns, fears, hopes and longings. We are threatened everyday by an unseen virus and very OUT LOUD racism. There is particular concern for our young boys and men. I love strengthening and blossoming Black and Intercultural Love. We are unique, passionate, and sometimes just need a little help to communicate, understand, and connect with the one who matters most. These problems infiltrate issues around money, in-laws, children, and, yes, even, sexual intimacy. I am grateful to be a conduit of successful love, the couple mind-body-spirit wellness connector. Having a father who has been a minister my entire life set the tone for the manifestation of my spiritual life work and an understanding of how we can transform the things we were told to be ashamed of into something we celebrate. As a teenager I was curious and passionate about learning about the practice of spirituality and sexuality and turned to Dr. Ruth and astrology books. There was an equally large sized King James Version Bible and Astrology book on our coffee table at all times. In my home today, in addition to the English Standard version of the Bible, you will also find books about Tantra Yoga, Tantric Sex (*The Way of the Superior Man), all the latest from Sadhguru, and all things yoga and meditation.
